Apple is continuously improving its products and there is something new popping up every now and then. In fact, there were some major announcements made at the WWDC 2017 where, among many other announcements, Apple announced its new iOS 11 as well. But despite the fact that this new iOS is coming up, Apple hasn’t yet ditched the previous iOS 10 and there have been continuous improvements going on with that iOS as well.
Recently, Apple introduced iOS 10.3 beta and with it comes a new handy feature that allows users to disable the in-app prompts which require them to give feedback on their experience with the app.
What Are In-App Ratings And Reviews All About?
There are apps that use SKStoreReviewController API and are capable of invoking a standardized prompt that ask users to share their review about the app and rate it without having to leave the app. The feature is available in some of the betas being tested by the testers and is expected to make it to next public release of iOS 10.3.
This new API actually streamlines your user experience feedback with the standard prompts. The number of feedbacks prompts is limited to 3 every year for each app that you have on your device. In fact, Apple also suggests the iPhone/iPad users to help developers by leaving feedback about their apps. It even helps the users to pick and choose the right apps for their devices.
The reviews that you leave from inside the apps actually go on App Store where you actually got the apps from. The in-app ratings system just makes things easier for you so that you may not have to leave the app just for giving your feedback.
Though these ratings and reviews may be helpful for the app developers, the prompts can become overly annoying for the iPhone users when they keep popping up. To be fortunate, however, you can disable these in-app ratings and reviews for all the apps that you have on your iOS device if the feature is supported in them. Here are the step-by-step instructions on how you can disable these unwanted review prompts on your iOS device.
How To Turn Off In-App Ratings & Reviews In iOS 10.3
Follow the steps given below to make sure that you do not receive any in-app review prompts on your device running iOS 10.3.
1. Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad
2. Tap on iTunes & App Stores
3. You will see a switch in front of In-App Ratings & Reviews, flip it off for disabling prompts for in-app ratings and reviews.
That’s all, you have done it successfully. You won’t receive any such feedback prompts from any apps whatsoever on your iPhone/iPad anymore. It would be worth mentioning here that the method above works only for the apps that support the SKSToreREviewController API in iOS 10.3. Just be sure before disabling the in-app reviews in order to avoid the hassle of enabling the again.
