Before getting the Omaker car phone mount I was putting my phone in a bunch of weird places like cup holders and up on the dash in front of the speedometer.  It was definitely pretty awkward because I had to glance around and off the road to look at the next direction.

This is a great accessory for the car.  If you have ever found yourself needing directions while traveling but had no convenient place to put your mobile device.  This Omaker 3-in-1 Universal Car Phone Mount is great because you can stick it to your windshield so your eyes are always on the road.

You may have seen other mounts where the only option was to stick it to your dash with some kind of sticker.  This mount still has that option but seriously I didn’t want to stick anything to my dash.  If you’re like me then you’re fearful of the gummy mess that it’s going to leave behind.  And then afterwards having to scrub the bejesus out of the dash to get it off.  Probably leaving some light scratches for you when you try to resell the car.

Then there are the mounts that clip on to your vents or plug in your cigarette lighter.  These are also bad Ideas, at least in my case.  I have had pieces of my vents break off and it does affect the way the vents blow.  You’re stuck there with one piece of the vent not moving.

As for the cigarette lighter mount option.  Why would you want to block that power port with a mount holder for your phone?  I usually need that to charge my device.  Besides, I might as well put it in the cup holder if I’m going to take away one of the conveniences of the car.  And lastly, how many cigarette lighters are even in the right location of the car for putting a GPS?  Not too many so you’ll probably end up having to look away from the phone again.
